Convertee (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the Convertee website and progressive web app at convertee.digital (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected, how it is used, and your choices.
Summary
Convertee is designed to work with minimal data collection. Most settings and preferences stay on your device. We do not operate user accounts and we do not sell personal information.
Information we collect
Information stored on your device
The app may store the following locally in your browser:
- Theme preference (light or dark)
- Selected currencies and calculator input
- Cached exchange rates and the time they were last updated
- Pro unlock status and license key entry (if you purchase Pro)
- UI mode preferences (simple converter or Mix)
This data remains on your device unless you clear site data or uninstall the app from your home screen.
Support inquiries
If you contact us through the support form or by email, we receive your email address, message content, and any optional name you provide. Messages may be summarized by an automated assistant before being forwarded to our team.
Information sent to third parties
When you use Convertee, your device may contact:
- Exchange rate providers — to fetch current currency rates. These requests typically do not include personal identifiers, but your IP address may be logged by the provider.
- Payment processors — if you purchase Convertee Pro, checkout is handled by our payment partner (for example Codapay, Creem, or another provider we configure). Payment details are processed by that provider under their own privacy policy.
- Hosting provider — standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) may be collected by our hosting platform for security and performance.
Information we do not collect
- We do not require an account, name, or email to use the free app
- We do not track your location for conversion purposes
- We do not use advertising trackers in the app
How we use information
We use information only to:
- Provide currency conversion and related app features
- Cache rates for offline use
- Remember your preferences on your device
- Process Pro purchases and license unlocks
- Maintain, secure, and improve the Service
Legal basis (where applicable)
Where privacy laws such as the GDPR apply, we process data based on performance of the service you request, our legitimate interest in operating a secure app, and — for payments — steps taken to fulfill a contract with you.
Data retention
Data stored locally on your device persists until you delete it. Server logs retained by our hosting provider are kept for a limited period defined by that provider. Payment records are retained by our payment processor according to their policies.
Children
Convertee is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

International users
Convertee is available globally. If you access the Service from outside your home country, your information may be processed in countries where our service providers operate.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated policy.
